WISP Compliance — DOKU's most robust module

Does your firm have a real WISP, or a template you signed once and never opened again?

Since June 9, 2023, every tax and accounting firm in the United States has been legally required — under the FTC Safeguards Rule (16 CFR §314.4) — to have a Written Information Security Program. This isn't a best-practice suggestion: it's a federal requirement, and the IRS keeps actively reinforcing it, with notices as recent as August 2026.

Here's how DOKU solves it

A living program, not an archived PDF

19 controls mapped to §314.4 and NIST CSF 2.0

Every control is completed automatically from real platform data, from the WISP document itself, or from uploaded evidence — never a checkbox ticked without support.

Formal roles: QI, PIO, and Training Administrator

The software mirrors the exact roles the regulation requires, with permissions enforced server-side too, not just in the interface.

Vendor management with real reevaluation

A record of every vendor with access to client data, with a reevaluation history the system itself won't let anyone fake.

Incident response with the FTC's 30-day clock

An 8-step wizard automatically calculates the notification deadline and assembles the summary with everything §314.4(j) requires.

Training with a signed, verifiable certificate

Courses in Spanish, English, and Portuguese; passing one generates a certificate with a public verification page — real evidence, not just a completed course.

Executive compliance dashboard

An overall score and a visual radar across the six NIST CSF 2.0 functions, so the QI, a partner, or an external auditor can see real status in seconds.

The problem

Firms don't lose clients over bad work. They lose them over lost control.

Recurring work falls through spreadsheets

Month-end close, payroll, and filings depend on someone remembering to create the task on time.

Communication scattered everywhere

Client follow-up lives across WhatsApp, personal email, and spreadsheets nobody else can see.

Zero visibility across the team

As a partner or manager, you don't know what's overdue until the client calls asking.

The solution

One platform. Your whole operation, under control.

DOKU Accountant isn't a generic ERP bent into shape — it was built around how a multi-client, multi-country accounting firm actually works.

Already built and in real use

Everything your team needs to stop running on memory

Activity Control

A kanban board with cascading filters by consultant, client, service, and activity. Every recurring task generates itself, right on time.

Recurring task engine

Month-end close, biweekly payroll, Form 941, and more: DOKU calculates the next period and creates the task automatically — no one has to remember.

CRM with a prospect pipeline

From prospect to active client without leaving the platform, with history and status always visible to the whole team.

AI support copilot

Your team gets instant answers inside the platform, with automatic escalation to a ticket when a human needs to step in.

Native multi-language

Spanish, English, and Portuguese from day one — not partial translations, but a platform designed to operate across countries.

Google Workspace connected

Send email and manage Drive documents directly linked to each client, without duplicating work in another tab.

Time tracking

Measure real time spent per activity and per consultant, with reports ready to review profitability by client.

Real multi-tenant security

Every firm and every client is isolated at the database level (Row Level Security), not just at the interface level.

FAQ

What firms like yours ask us

When can I start using DOKU Accountant?+

We're in early access with a limited number of Founding Firms. Once you join the waitlist, we'll reach out to schedule a demo and plan onboarding.

How much does it cost?+

We haven't published final pricing yet. Founding Firms get preferential terms defined ahead of public launch, discussed during the demo based on your firm's size.

Is my data — and my clients' data — secure?+

Yes. The platform enforces data isolation at the database level (Row Level Security) per firm and per client, not just interface-level restrictions.

Does it work as well in Spanish as in English?+

Yes — Spanish, English, and Portuguese are native to the platform by design, not translations bolted on afterward.

I already use another tool — can I migrate my data?+

Yes, onboarding includes assisted migration of your clients, services, and recurring activities.

Does DOKU actually help with WISP compliance, or is it just another template?+

It's a full module inside the platform: 19 controls mapped to §314.4 and NIST CSF 2.0, vendor management, incident response with the FTC deadline calculated automatically, training with a verifiable certificate, and an executive compliance dashboard. It doesn't replace your Qualified Individual's judgment — it backs it with real evidence.

When will the DOKU Mobile client portal be available?+

It's in active development as the platform's next major release. Founding Firms get priority access as soon as it leaves beta.
